The 2008 Norba elections concluded after a record voter turnout. Members from Norba, as well as offshoot sanctioning body USA Cycling, elected several representatives to the Mountain Bike Board of Trustees. This board comprises the political structure of Norba.
For the athlete representatives, three candidates ran for three available seats. Incumbent Jeremy Horgan-Kobelski was re-elected to both the Norba Board of Trustees and the USA Cycling Board of Directors. Neven Steinmetz and Chris Van Dine were also elected to fill seats on the Norba Board of Trustees.
For the Official Representative, incumbent Kinnin Payson was elected over Dorothy Nichols.
Jamie Bogner ran unopposed and was elected to the Land Access Trustee seat.
JEREMY HORGAN-KOBELSKI
Boulder, CO
JHK is the most prolific American cross-country mountain bike racer of the last decade. He is a 4 time Norba National Champion. Before turning pro in 2000 he was 4-time Collegiate National Champion and 2-time Collegiate Cyclist of the Year. Jeremy is married to professional women mountain bike racer Heather Irmiger and both currently ride for the Subaru-Gary Fisher team.
NEVEN STEINMETZ
Boulder, CO
Neven has been racing gravity events since 2003 and turned pro in 2006. When not racing bikes or helping promote the sport of mountain biking to the next level, Steinmetz continues working on her PhD in Tissue Engineering. In the future she wants to use stem cells from bone marrow to develop a therapy to generate new cartilage and bone for people with osteoarthritis and damaged joints.
CHRIS VAN DINE
Park City, UT
Professional downhill and 4-Cross rider Chris Van Dine has been racing for most of his 28 years. After turning pro in 2003, Chris immediately stepped up to become the top U.S. finisher at the 2004 World Mountain Bike Championships in Les Gets, France. Chris' extreme riding has also been featured in numerous mountain bike videos.

With 3 decades of experience in cycling—18 years of which are mountain bike—Kinnin brings a huge amount of experience to events. She is the voice on the Board for Norba Officials at all levels. Kinnin prides herself on the ability to see points of view from the numerous official, rider, promoter, and sponsor aspects. Her goal is to make mountain biking even more attractive to newcomers, as well as helping promote the elite end up to the next level.
JAMIE BOGNER
New York, NY
Jamie is also President of the New York City Mountain Bike Association. They build and maintain trails in the five boroughs of New York City. Their success in advocating locally and regionally for the sport of mountain biking has earned the NYCMTB great respect. Bogner ran unopposed for Land Access Trustee because he is simply the best.
