Highlights: We're going to let you in on something. Everyone thinks of Felt as this super expensive boutique bike maker. And that's because they are. But little do riders realize that for just $800 and some change, it's possible to obtain a brand-new, cross-country-race-worthy hardtail with the Felt name on it. It is mountain biking's best kept dirty little secret.

Best quote: "Admittedly, at 30 pounds the Felt Q720 is no lightweight. Plus the 32 low cog doesn't benefit ultra steep climbing. However, it fooled us. This bike just wants to climb."

Bottom line: This is a great get-your-feet-wet mountain bike. It's aimed at a rider who is more interested in being first up the hill. It has an inspired cross-country race feel and handling. The Felt Q720 is easy to own and out of the door it's ready to mix it up on local singletrack. If you don't let your riding partners catch you, they'll think that you are on a RXC Pro!
