The reigning 4-Cross World Champion sailed through Saturday's 4X event in Schladming, Austria, winning all his rounds. Brian Lopes won in the final in front of the German Guido Tschugg, Filip Polc of Slovakia, and the Australian rider Jared Graves. One of the upsets of the day was the crash in the semifinal of two big favorites, Great Britain's Gee Atherton (Animal Commencal) and Switzerland's Roger Rinderknecht.

WOMEN
Two weeks after her disappointment in Mt-Sainte-Anne, the American Jill Kintner left no doubts as to her authority in taking out victory over Anneke Beerten. With this win over Beerten in Schladming, Kintner also robbed the Dutch rider of the white leader's jersey. Great Britain's Fionn Griffiths and Japan's Mio Suemasa took third and fourth places.

The World Champion title still remains wide open but will be decided during the fifth and final round in Maribor.
