2006 SRC AWARDS CEREMONY

Over the weekend Eddie Arnet was aboard the Project Titus 96er defending his Back On Track Urban Cyclocross Championship title at Wild Rivers in Irvine. Meanwhile, Terry Martin was in Riverside at Malcolm Smith's new 68,000 square foot, two story shop; capturing the tone of the 2006 Southridge Racing Club Awards Ceremony.

There will be more on cyclocrossing a 96er mountain bike in the continuing saga of the postings on our 29 Inch Chronicles.

Some of the SRC sponsors from the left: Next to the four representatives from SDG, IceToolz, Rubena, and Fibrax we have Colby Young for odi and Mr. Dirt; Toby Henderson with daughter Paris for t.h.e., Vigor Sports and Intense Tire System; Roger Hurd for Romic Shocks; Rich Houseman for Sponsorhouse; Mike J ohnston for Promotion Sportswear; Dave Turrell for Troy Lee Designs.

Your racing family from the left: Brittany Jackson, Debbie Jackson's sister Sherrie Stoddard, expert XC racer Ben Eisley, SRC employee Stephanie Hernandez, sport rider Steve Herrera, and fresh mom Amber Jackson holding 6 month old Tanner.(Congratulations once again...).
Every SRC rider was given a food band and a product and motorcycle raffle ticket.

Roots: SRC's Donny Jackson talks to On Any Sunday legend Malcolm Smith
on the right. Malcolm shows little wear only a few weeks after the brakes failed in a buggy, flipping him over a Baja 1000 embankment and fracturing two of his vertebra. Malcolm SmithMotorsports General Manager David Rees on the left used to sponsor Donny back in the high school motocross days!

3SRCawards
Bling: SRC also runs Deb's Custom Awards, so there is never a shortage
of cool trophies at Southridge events. The photos behind Donny are of
Malcolm Smith racing at Baja. The top one is from the 1971 Baja 1000, which Malcolm won. Then in the bottom photo Malcolm is checking into a Gonzaga Bay pit during the 1969 Baja 500. Malcolm is aboard an 8-speed Husqavarna 400.

4SRCawards
Join SRC and win!: Two $2200 SDG 50's, one black and one white, where
raffled off. One of the bikes was won by Donald "Impostor" Jackson and
the other was taken by Kevin Aiello. Single speed racer and Competitive
Edge employee Umaro Jimenez won the Intense 6.6 frame that is shown just
to right and behind the SDG 50. Altogether the raffled product came to a whopping $30,000.

5SRCawards
Don vs. Don: Donald Jackson claps along with hundreds of other SRC
members as Donny Jackson spills the good news about next year's program.
Donald is a regular on the Southridge 45-54 Expert XC podium. While not
related to Donald, Donny is the one who runs Southridge Cycling in
Fontana and is the first person in the world who has ever held a Norba
National at an urban city p
ark.

6SRCawards
Beating kids half his age: Trek-VW's Bruce Muhlfeld celebrated his 50th
birth year by taking SRC's Number One Cross-Country Pro plate. Bruce is
married to California State XC Pro Women Champion Tomarra Muhlfeld.
Bruce is also a former California State USCF Master Road Champ. For two
years Eddie Arnet has been training on the same Team Mercury Fuji that
Bruce won the road title on.

7SRCawards
#1 through #4 gravity pro's from the right: Standing next to Donny is ex
MBA Wrecking Crew rider Waylon Smith, Daniel Umland, Hank Cadle and Rich
Houseman. After a two year straight championship string, Waylon is the
first rider to dethrone Daniel. These are the riders who know every hot
line through Southridge's rock garden littered hillside.

8SRCawards
Wall of champ's: This year the top rider in every age division of each
racing category in XC and DH were handed out championship plates. That's
57 number one SRC riders in total! The number one riders were each given
custom SRC Champion Jerseys from the Hot Shoppe, as well as a number
one plate award. Next year the riders will race with a special
championship plate.

9SRCawards
Membership perks: After successfully defending his Urban Cyclocross
Championship, Eddie Arnet barely made it to the SRC Awards. Eddie took
the SRC plate in the expert 45-54 category, as well as in the Super D
division. The SRC titles and an invite to the annual awards party is
offered to every rider who joins SRC. No Norba membership is required to
race Southridge.

SRC CHAMPION WALL OF FAME
