Held in Whistler Village, BC, this running of the 24 Hour Solo World Championships was tougher than ever. A day's worth of cold and rainy conditions pushed riders to the limit. While the limit didn't derail fresh NORBA Marathon Champ Chris Eatough, it certainly wasn't easy. Ernesto Marenchin finished only 27 minutes shy of the endurance star. Keep an eye out for Ernesto. The Granny Gear 24 Hours of Big Bear Champ finished 3 laps behind Eatough at last year's event.
Newly crowned women champ Marg Fedyna also had a breakthrough ride, finishing one hour ahead of 2005 NORBA National Marathon and 24 Hour Champ Monique Sawicki.
Amateur category racers competed on an 8.1 mile loop with 1247 feet of elevation gain and loss. An additional segment was added on to the traditional course for the elite riders. It gave another 3/4's of a mile, and brought the total elevation gain/loss to 1509 feet.
