16TH ANNUAL SEA OTTER CLASSIC



DATE: April 6-9, 2006

LOCATION: Laguna Seca Recreation Area, Monterey, CA.

DESCRIPTION: The Sea Otter Classic is the largest, most celebrated cycling festival in North America. The multi day event, known throughout the world as the cycling season's premier kickoff, draws nearly 10,000 professional, amateur and recreational athletes; 50,000 spectators; and, over 200 media representatives from across the globe. It's open to enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels, from toddler to senior, recreational rider to world class pro athlete. The event includes a Road Circuit Race, Mountain Bike Cross-Country and Gravity events, Sram Invitational Dirt Jump, Road and Mountain Bike Recreational Rides, Sram Mountain Bike Ride Zone, Bike Rodeo and BMX Demos. At the center of the nonstop action is the massive Sea Otter Village, home to the world's largest outdoor consumer bike exposition featuring over 250 vendors, a food court and tons of friend and family fun activities. All events are free to kids under 12. The Cypress Youth Fund, Sea Otter Classic's philanthropic arm, provides funding to organizations that benefit their communities in the areas of youth, sport, education, and environment.
